Vertical Farming - Does agriculture need to change?

This is the prelude to the edutainment series on vertical farming.

Before we can understand why we might want vertical farms, we need to understand the problem with current agriculture and how it effects key global issues such as global warming and water security. As critical as farming has been for humanity, scaling up the production of outdoor crops poses big questions around how it affects the environment and its sustainability.

This video looks at the current state of agriculture and it's impact on global challenges such as food security, deforestation, climate change and other issues. It asks what is the cost of continuing with our current method of agriculture.

The next video looks at the viability of different vertical farming methods and asks if vertical farming works.
