“Thar vs Thar on City Road”: Violent Clash Over Woman Triggers Chaos in Vijayawada

A dramatic clash involving two Thar jeeps on the busy Patamata High Tension 100 Feet Road in Vijayawada triggered panic among motorists and locals in the early hours of Friday, May 22.

According to preliminary information, the confrontation took place between two youths identified as Rohit and Om, allegedly over a young woman.

The dispute reportedly escalated into a violent road chase, with both sides ramming their Thar jeeps into each other in the middle of the road, creating scenes resembling an action movie sequence.

Eyewitnesses said the youths also attacked the vehicles using iron rods, smashing windows and damaging the SUVs during the clash.

The incident caused heavy commotion in the area, forcing motorists and pedestrians to run for safety as the violence unfolded on the busy stretch.

Police said a young woman present inside one of the vehicles has also been identified as part of the ongoing investigation.

After receiving information about the clash, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. However, one of the accused, identified as Lingamaneni Rohit, allegedly fled before officers arrived.

Police later detained Bolla Om during the night and questioned him regarding the incident.

Authorities are now examining CCTV footage and recording statements from eyewitnesses to establish the exact sequence of events and confirm the motive behind the violent clash.

Further investigation is underway.
