Tropical Storm Atsani (#SionyPH) and Tropical Storm Eta Live Update

Despite Goni (#RollyPH) moving away from the Philippines after making the strongest landfall in recorded history in Catanduanes, Tropical Storm Atsani (Philippine name Siony) poses another potential threat to the country, with potential impacts in Luzon, though the track forecast remains very uncertain. Atsani (#SionyPH) is forecast to become a tropical storm again in the near future and could become a significant typhoon in the Philippine Sea this week after doing a loop. All interests from Luzon to Taiwan need to monitor the progress of Atsani (Siony) closely as impacts could occur in either of these regions.

In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Eta formed this morning in the Caribbean Sea, tying 2005 for the most tropical storm formations in a single hurricane season at 28. Eta is already quickly intensifying and is currently forecast to become a category 2 hurricane before making a landfall in Nicaragua or Honduras, where 3 feet / 1 meter of rainfall is possible. All interest in Central America need to monitor the developments of Eta closely over the coming days.
