The reports are broken down into three areas, this area at the top showing the history, when the report was run, the website etc. The scores area in the middle, showing scores for each area of the assessment and the what you need to do area on the right which will take you to the priorities, broken down by role.
Let’s look at the accessibility module in more detail.
The results page shows the score for accessibility up here. Our reports include various details and reporting options.
Sitemorse breaks actions down into three levels, priority, secondary, tertiary. Priority actions should be addressed first as these can offer the greatest improvement, then work through the secondary and the tertiary actions are the final ones to action.
Within each level we report the number of actions and the change in them since the last assessment, this helps to show real change and not disheartening users. Often the score or percentage of pages meeting each of the accessibility levels, doesn’t change each week when an assessment is run but the number of actions does changes as improvements are made across the website, leading to users feeling more confident and making it easier for them to tackle improvement.
You can view the percentage of pages meeting each level of the WCAG guidelines by using this option here.
Now let’s move from this summary to the detail, looking at the accessibility content priorities.
The WCAG guidelines can be difficult to understand, so we have rewritten them and included a short description so they can be understood by all. The priority actions are displayed with their easy to understand descriptions and there are also quick help videos available to provide more information on how to fix the actions, giving users training on demand. All of these tools make it easier for users to make changes. It helps users to feel confident in addressing the actions, building the foundations of continuous improvement.
You can click through further to drill down into the report for developer users which includes the line in the code the actions were found on.
