Indian Crew Evacuated After Tanker Catches Fire Off Oman Coast

All 24 Indian crew members aboard the Palau-flagged tanker MT Maravex have been safely rescued after the vessel was struck by a missile off the coast of Oman.

The rescue operation was coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai in close coordination with Omani authorities. Following the attack, the vessel reportedly caught fire, prompting an emergency response that led to the evacuation of all crew members to safety in Muscat.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the region and growing concerns over maritime security around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical shipping routes. Indian authorities remained in touch with Omani officials throughout the operation to ensure the safety of the seafarers.
