How to actually get people addicted to your content #shorts
Here’s how to get people actually addicted to your content.
It’s called The Dopamine Ladder.
There are 6 levels of dopamine that get released when you watch a video.
The higher you get someone up this ladder, the more hooked they’ll be.
Level 1, the lowest rung, is called Stimulation.
To get someone to pop level 1 dopamine, all you have to do is create a visual stun gun in the first 2 seconds.
Colors, motion, brightness, an attractive person…something that stops their scroll immediately.
Level 2 dopamine is called Captivation.
In addition to the stun gun, you also create a curiosity loop that captivates their attention.
Some open question in their head that makes them desperate to keep watching.
Now Level 3 is where things start getting a little more advanced.
This is the Anticipation layer.
To get this level to hit, not only do you need to frame a curiosity inducing question, but you also need to get the viewer to keep anticipating what the answer might be.
The longer you keep them guessing, the longer they’ll watch.
Level 4 on the dopamine ladder is called Validation.
This is where you’ve finally provide an answer to their question and close the loop.
But, in order for it to be effective, that answer needs to be non-obvious.
If they could have guessed what it was themselves, then the dopamine will never release.
Now these first 4 levels are all specific to each video you make.
But the top 2 levels is where superfandom really comes from.
And you can’t get up here without consistently hitting the first 4.
Level 5 is called Affection.
This is where the viewer stops liking just the video and starts liking YOU, as the messenger.
And lastly, level 6, the top of the ladder, is Revelation.
This is when the viewer is such a fan that just seeing your name or face makes them want to watch the whole video, before they even know what it’s about.
Now this framework is the secret for how so many top creators build cult-like personal brands.
If you want the full breakdown of how to engineer each rung, comment "Dopamine" and I'll send you the full video.
It walks through every level with examples, the exact tactics for each one, and how to actually make it work in every piece of content you make.
