In this video, we will give you all a tour of our lot and show you all what they have done so far. We visited our lot a few days prior and realized that they started the footing process. Footings are essentially the walls to the foundation. At first we were alarmed because we have not had our pre construction meeting or our blueprints meeting. Our builder let us know that they sometimes start the footing stage before those meetings if they have an inspection or deadline to meet. He reassured us that we will still have our meeting to correct any errors and that the footing is essentially standard and based on the model we chose.

We also saw that they put our homesite sign in our yard and it had the wrong address on it. It was the same address that was on our paperwork but because we did not decide to turn our house diagonally or to have a side load garage, our address will be different. They have the correct address spray painted on the black sheet outlining our property. We were able to talk to someone at the county inspections office and they verified the correct address. One of the sales counselors will correct the change so that it reflects our paperwork.

This was the first time we were able to really see our property lines. We thought the sticks that indicate where the trees will go were our property lines. We reviewed our plat (lot blueprint) and measured the property to get a real idea of the size of the lot. We were not able to view our lot prior to choosing it, we chose it from the plat. Now that they have started, we are now able to truly see the property size based on where the footings are.
