Well, what do we have here this time around. Four pretty cool delay pedals for sure.

Rubberneck is probably a modern day classic. It´s analog in nature and behaves like one, it does the clean or dirty delays very well although my feeling about this one is that it probably goes more in the experimental direction rather than being a straight up clean delay machine as I have noticed a certain tendency towards bringing up a slight distortion into the signal. Still a very cool pedal with a rich and useful feature set for an analog unit. Thumbs up!

EHX is my favorite in this roundup. It has a distinctive personality like most Electro Harmonix pedals do and I love it for that aspect alone, it is just different from the rest. EHX always bring something unique and special that makes it sound like nothing else. I really enjoy this one with synthesizers.

Wampler I have not much to say about I am afraid. Although it does everything right basically and while being really well made and equipped pedal for some reason it did not impress me as much as some other even more simpler delay units have and I really can´t tell why. What striked me the most about Wampler was it´s cool appearance and the amazing purple paint job. What a show stopper! It´s the kind of unit you want to be seen with:-)

TC Flashback 2 may not be the most characterful delay around but what it possibly lacks in character it makes up for it with its amazing versatility. It is very compact in size, it is stereo in and out, offers several types of delay effects, has an option to be hooked to a software control app to save or load new presets and tweek hidden parameters for each effect (alrhough I have not investigated this feature as I like to use my pedals in the most straightforward fashion and want to get to my sound quick and easy so no time for messing with an app for me:-). In my experience Flashback 2 works everytime and on everything and it never ruins a track. It just works and most of the time it is all you want and need. Highly recommended for an easy to use universally usable workhorse delay pedal that will shine on basically anything you put it on. And it is fairly priced too. Can´t go wrong with this one really. Could as well be your next blind pedal purchase and it won´t make you feel sorry later on - even if you already have better and more luxurious pedals to choose from Flashback 2 will still get a lot of use in your music - I guarantee you this:-)
