Nurse Tried To Burn Down Healthcare Facility With Patients Inside

Taquan N. Ayers, a licensed practical nurse in Winslow Township, New Jersey, is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors alleged he set fire to his apartment, set his vehicle on fire outside his workplace, poured gasoline inside a healthcare facility, threatened coworkers, and attempted to ignite the building while employees and patients were inside.

In this video, I walk through the allegations, the charges prosecutors filed, the elements prosecutors would generally need to prove under New Jersey law, and the potential penalties associated with those charges.

The allegations have now resulted in multiple felony charges.
