Onboarding Tips - Lucid Learning
Onboarding new employees can be difficult, but there are ways to make the process more efficient and beneficial for those involved. In this video, Kat Judd, VP of People Ops at Lucid, shares 3 principles of good onboarding.
1) Introduce available resources. New hires have a lot on their plate on their first day. Make sure they know how to set up their computer, how to calendar something, how catered lunches work, etc. Also point them to the people and departments they can go to for answers to their questions.
2) Help them build relationships. It can be difficult being brand new in an office, so make sure new employees have opportunities to meet other new hires and long-term employees. Schedule activities, lunches, etc., to get them quickly integrated into the team.
3) Introduce company values. Share company values, and how they relate to a new hire's success at your company.
