Vehicle Collision in Orange, NJ

This incident occurred on December 21, 2022 at the intersection of Northfield Avenue and Wheeler Street in Orange, New Jersey. The camera footage shows a yellow Dodge Charger driving beside the camera vehicle in the left-turn-only lane. A dual-turn fail type of event occurred, where the driver of the Dodge Charger collided into my Rav4 as I was beginning my left turn. The area of impact involved the front right bumper of the Charger and the left rear wheel and wheel arch of the Rav4. Scuffs and paint transfer were the bulk of the damage. Due to the location of the impact, the Rav4's left rear wheel was momentarily suspended as the vehicle was low-speed PIT maneuvered.

I'm happy to report there were no injuries. I had 2 passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident and they were emotionally rattled, understandably so. After some cool-off time, everyone was back at-ease. As you can imagine, I was not pleased considering my new Rav4 had only 1,000 miles on the odometer. Fortunately, the damage is cosmetic and shouldn't be too hard to remediate.
