Typhoon Goni (#RollyPH) leaving the Philippines

After making a historic landfall early this morning in Catanduanes with winds near 190mph (300kph), Typhoon Goni has weakened substantially as it edges into the South China Sea. The storm now has winds near 70mph (110kph) with higher gusts, and could reintensify slightly as it approaches Vietnam.

Rainfall amounts in Vietnam are expected to be high from yet another storm impact, with the landfall area expected, yet again, to be near Quang Ngai.

Signal 3 Warnings remain in effect for parts of the Philippines for the time being, but are likely to be lifted soon.
