Fertilizer from rice husks promoting greener farming in Kenya

As Africa works to feed its fast-growing population, governments are stepping up investments in food production. In Kenya, rice has become a key staple, yet each harvest leaves behind mountains of rice husks, a by-product that’s difficult to decompose and once choked the environment. With support from Kilimo Trust and local youth groups, the husks are being converted into biochar, an organic fertilizer that enriches soil and locks in carbon, making it both an agricultural boost and a climate solution. #kenya #viral #trump #agriculture
