Should you blanch celery before dehydrating it? It's been a long time since I dehydrated celery, so before doing so, I did a quick search to see how long it would take to dehydrate it. I found that most everyone recommends blanching celery before dehydrating it. When I dehydrated celery before, I didn't blanch it ahead of time, and it worked fine. But I was curious if blanching celery before dehydrating it would improve the appearance or taste. So, in this video, I share my process of testing blanching vs. not blanching celery before dehydrating it. I dehydrated two bunches of celery and to test things out, I blanched one bunch of celery and didn't blanch the other bunch before dehydrating.

I compare the appearance and the taste of both the blanched and unblanched dehydrated celery and share the findings with you. I also tell you how I'll dehydrate celery in the future.
