Hunting Spring Turkeys with a 1976 Recurve Bow (Michigan)

Some days, turkey hunting is slow, quiet, and completely predictable. Other days, it turns into absolute, pure spring chaos!

In this episode of Wilderness Wize, we're hitting the Michigan spring woods with a classic challenge in mind: tagging a tom with traditional archery gear. Rodney Most is carrying nothing but a 1976 Bear Black Panther recurve bow, pushing his woodsmanship to the absolute limit for a close-range shot.

But as any turkey hunter knows, things rarely go completely to plan. From perfectly brushed-in blinds and textbook decoy setups to heartbreaking misses, a vintage .410 shotgun blast through the thick brush, and empty 12-gauge shells left on the ground—this hunt quickly turns into the story of "two and a half turkeys."

If you love traditional bowhunting, classic firearms, and the realistic ups and downs of hunting with good friends and family, this is one spring morning you don't want to miss!

STAY WILD, STAY SHARP, AND AS ALWAYS, STAY WISE!
