Why I’m Replacing My Spring Border | Zone 9B Florida Garden

Back in mid-February, I planted this spring border in my Zone 9B Northeast Florida garden using Jazzberry and Mini Vista Yellow Supertunias, lamb’s ear, dusty miller, and border grass.

Just a few months later, these small one-gallon plants completely filled the space and created one of my favorite spring combinations yet.

Unfortunately, Florida’s heat, humidity, and recent heavy rains mean it’s time for a seasonal refresh. The Supertunias are headed to the plant hospital, the dusty miller is headed to the compost pile, and I’m preparing this border for an entirely new summer planting scheme.

Stay tuned as I redesign the bed and reveal what’s coming next in the garden.

What would you plant here for summer?
