Help Helpers Help Those in Need (emPOWER NOLA)

How do we help the helpers that help people in need? In New Orleans, 1 in 5 children have witnessed a murder and over half of them have had someone close to them die by murder. Psychologist Arnold James shares the story of helping 16 year-old Josh through hard times by using learnings from the emPOWER NOLA team's curriculum.

Big Idea Talks are in the TED Talk style from experienced health care providers who are collaborating in new ways to advance health equity in their communities and beyond. The speakers have completed fellowships in Clinical Scholars, a national leadership program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) from 2016-2023.
