REALITY behind TED talks

I just appeared in a TED Talk.

Okay… I didn’t.
But you were slightly impressed for a second, weren’t you?

That’s exactly why this distinction matters.

Next time someone says they “did a TED Talk”…
Ask one question:

Was it TED…
or TEDx?

Because they’re not the same.

A TED Talk is the real deal.
Organised by TED itself.
World-class thinkers.
Serious vetting.
Limited stages.

A TEDx Talk is different.

TEDx events are independently organised by local communities —
universities, companies, even small teams — under a TED licence.

That means speakers can apply.
And there are thousands of TEDx events every year.

Both can be valuable.
But they signal very different things.

Because in luxury — and in positioning —
details matter.

Sometimes the difference between prestige and perception…
is just one letter.
