The Punitive Expedition of Henry Sibley: Reevaluating the "Success" of his Campaign

Less than a year after the U.S. - Dakota War of 1862, General Henry Hastings Sibley led a military expedition against the Santee Sioux, Yankton, Yanktonai, and Teton living in the Dakota Territories.

*The sketch labeled "Camp Atchinson" is actually "Camp Atchison."
