Original radio broadcast!
The Yankees were on the road June 29th of '58, and if the Athletics were intimidated by the pinstripe brigade, they certainly didn't show it. KC put up twelve runs, led by young Roger Maris going 4 for 6 with a homer. Maris had joined the A's after an underwhelming rookie season with the Indians in '57 where he batted a meager .235, but those days were fading fast, as Roger was developing the prowess that would soon lead to joining the Yankees and a legendary chase for the home run record.
