Shri Murudeshwara Shiva Temple

The Murudeshwar Temple is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site located on Kanduka Hill in Bhatkal Taluk, Karnataka. It is world-renowned for its massive 123-foot Lord Shiva statue and its stunning location, surrounded on three sides by the Arabian Sea.
Key Architectural Features
Lord Shiva Statue: Standing at 123 feet (37 metres), it is the second-tallest Shiva statue in the world. It was strategically designed by sculptors (led by Kashinath from Shivamogga) to face the sun so that it sparkles when hit by morning light.
Raja Gopura: This 20-storied entrance tower stands approximately 237 to 249 feet tall. It is one of the tallest gopurams in the world and features a mechanical lift that takes visitors to the 18th floor for a panoramic view of the Shiva statue and the
