We are now down to the final 8 players of the Skilling Open, the first event of the Champions Chess Tour 2020-21. In the Quarter finals we will have two days of match play between 8 players. These are the matches Lined up:
1. Magnus Carlsen vs Anish Giri
2. Aronian vs Nepomniachtchi
3. Wesley So vs Teimour Radjabov
4. Hikaru Nakamura vs MVL
The players will play against each other 4 games of 15 mins + 10 seconds increment on the 1st day and also 4 games of 15 mins + 10 seconds increment. If day 1 is won by let's say Anish Giri and Day two by Magnus Carlsen, then the match goes into two game of blitz (5+3) followed by Armageddon (game points are not counted in the day 1 and 2 matches). At the end of day 2 we will have four players who will advance to the semi-finals.
