VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[2:13] The dye colors
Dharma acid dyes Caribbean Blue, Extreme Blue, and Intense Iris
[3:35] presoaking the yarn
600 g of Swish DK yarn for the variegated colorway + 100 g for a yarn mop
[4:30] The dyeing setup
200 g of yarn at a time
Add 4 cups or or so of water to the yarn
[6:09] Dyeing the first layer
cold, no acid. Apply the dye powder and move it through the yarn
[13:00] Flipping the first layer
[14:16] Preparing for & Dyeing the second layer
Add dye to the top of the first layer, add 200 g yanr, then some water to help work colors through.
Then dye and repeat!
[20:42] Adding acid
Add tablespoons of white vinegar across the top layer (~6) , work it through the layers.
Let the yarn sit for a while before moving to the heat
Add more water - a mixutre of 8 cups of water with 2-3 T white vinegar
Add slowly to the brightest color
Let the yarn sit for 20 minutes before moving it
[25:07] Heat setting the yarn
Add more water with vinegar after we're at the stove
Cover the pan with foil and heat for 30 minutes
[30:28] remove the yarn from the pan
[32:11] Washing the yarn
[35:07] The finished dry yarn and conclusions
