District Administration Kulgam Conducts Demolition Drive Along NH-444
Kulgam, June 9: Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, the District Administration Kulgam today carried out a demolition drive against structures encroaching on the NH-444 corridor.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Kulgam and SHO Kulgam, along with the concerned revenue and police officials. During the operation, several structures standing within the notified area of NH-444 were demolished.
Officials said that the affected property owners had already received compensation from the government for the acquisition of land and structures required for the highway project. However, despite repeated notices and sufficient time being provided, some structures had not been removed by their owners.
In order to ensure smooth execution of the highway development project and remove obstacles from the acquired land, the administration initiated the demolition drive. The operation was carried out peacefully with the cooperation of various departments.
The District Administration reiterated its commitment to implementing public infrastructure projects in accordance with legal procedures and urged residents to cooperate with government agencies in matters concerning public development works.
