Amazingly Easy Homemade Bread

This homemade bread is sooooo easy.

Flour, yeast, salt and water…that's it. Are ya kidding me?

I prep this after the girls go to bed the evening before I know we will need it, let it proof for a good 18 hours or so and then plop it in the oven at dinner time and BOOM. Bread magic.

3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups room temp water

Stir together the flour, yeast and salt. Add the water and stir until a dough ball forms, it’ll look kinda scrappy and weird. Cover with plastic wrap and a clean kitchen towel and let it sit at room temp for 12-18 hours. I made mine at about 11pm and it was perfect for dinner the next day! Store in a draft free area.

Remove, shape into a dough ball. Preheat oven to 450 and place a 6 quart Dutch oven in the oven to preheat. When oven is preheated place dough on a piece of parchment paper and put it in the Dutch oven. Cover and cook for 30 minutes, remove the lid and cook an additional 10-15 minutes until browned and beautiful.

You will need a Dutch oven or an oven safe pot with a tight fitting lid to make this recipe. A Dutch oven is my absolute number one favorite pot/pan in my kitchen, I use it for everything!
