HTC REEL Kid: Sebastian – St. James Elementary School

Sebastian, a student at St. James Elementary, Sebastian is a smart, funny and social boy. But he has come a long way from how his life started.

Sebastian was born premature at 26 weeks and stayed in the hospital for 107 days. He required assistance to start breathing and remained on a ventilator for 17 days. He also had a brain hemorrhage and brain injury which required a shunt to drain fluid. These complications at birth caused muscles in his legs to be tight, resulting in it being difficult to walk. As a result, Sebastian has braces on his legs and straps that help him walk and straighten his feet when walking. Despite his struggles and everything he has gone through he is a happy, energetic boy.
