Delia Smith’s most famous moment wasn’t in the kitchen – it was on the pitch. In 2005, during a struggling Norwich City game, she took the microphone at half-time and gave us the immortal line: “Let’s be having you!”

Over twenty years later, I’m celebrating that meme-worthy moment by cooking one of her proper comfort food classics: corned beef hash. Cheap, cheerful, and full of flavour – this is the sort of dish that could revive any team in the relegation zone.

Along the way, I’ll share the story behind Delia’s half-time outburst, how the press reacted at the time, and why the phrase has stuck with football fans ever since.
