Amit Shah Speaks as Nitish Kumar Files Rajya Sabha Nomination, & Steps Down As Bihar Chief Minister

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha, marking his re-entry into national politics. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present during the nomination filing and welcomed Kumar's return to Parliament. Shah praised Kumar's tenure as Chief Minister from 2005 onwards, stating that he maintained a clean image throughout his career as MLA, MP, Chief Minister, and Central Minister. Shah highlighted Kumar's role in Bihar's development, particularly in infrastructure, electricity supply to villages, and implementation of central government schemes. He noted Kumar's association with the 1974 JP movement and his adherence to those principles. With Kumar's elevation to the Rajya Sabha, a BJP leader is expected to assume the Chief Minister's position in Bihar, with Kumar's son likely to serve as Deputy Chief Minister.
