As part of their "In Performance at the White House" series, the President and First Lady invited country music legends and contemporary major artists to the White House for a celebration of country music. The program includes performances by Lauren Alaina, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Mickey, Darius Rucker and James Taylor.
Alison Maria Krauss is an American bluegrass-country singer-songwriter and musician who performs with the band Alison Krauss and Union Station (AKUS). As of 2012, she has won 27 Grammy Awards from 41 nominations, making her tied as the most awarded living recipient. She is also the most awarded singer and the most awarded female artist in Grammy history.

"In Performance at the White House" is a series of events created to showcase the music that's contributed to the fabric of American culture and chronicled the history of its people, performed in the setting of the nation's most famous home.
