Why Do Hummingbirds Hum?
Birds contribute significantly to the health and balance of plant ecosystems through various essential roles such as pollination, seed dispersal, pest and weed control, maintaining soil health, and ensuring ecological balance. Check out the March Issue of World Sensorium Conservancy's journal, PLANTINGS, to delve deeper into this fascinating symbiotic relationship.

Do you want to hear a joke?
What!?
Do you hear a joke about hummingbirds?
Okay.
Why do hummingbirds hum?
I don't know, why?
Because they don't know the words!
The name hummingbird comes from the humming sound made from the birds rapidly beating waves. Hummingbirds wings fly so quickly, typically 50 to 80 times per second. They fly so fast that their wings create a humming noise that humans register as a buzz. So while hummingbirds might not hum like humans do, they still create a groovy move that can go to a nice beat.
