Did I embarrass Janeese "Purple Rain" Lewis-George by fact checking her speech at the First Hijrah Community Eid Salat?

We stood together at the park on Colorado and 16th for Eid Al Adha to celebrate the Hajj (May 27, 2026). The Imam of the First Hijrah Masjid gave a beautiful lecture and we were reminded of Surah Al-Fatihah: “Ihdinas siratal mustaqim...” Guide us to the straight path. Not the path of those who go astray.

But after the prayer, the political machine tried to silence us...once again. But, I stood my ground and the people loved it, as always!

It was just me vs. Janeese "Purple Rain" George --- the Billionaires and Epstein-class favorite candidate for Mayor of Washington, DC.

She spoke in generalities about what she did for the community as their Councilmember (Ward 4) for the last six years. According to her, she fought for their families and small businesses.

I spoke next and did some fact-checking. What has she actually done? Look around the First Hijrah Masjid. The entire block is getting millions in new development, yet the First Hijrah Masjid sits there looking completely neglected. How many times has she even visited this community other then when she wants their vote?

Not on my watch. My wife is Habesha. I pray at First Hijrah regularly. I fast with this community. You know you can trust that I will never sell you out like the politicians who only show up when it’s election season.

And what is she doing to protect our families: Three weeks ago, the captain of the football team at Jackson Reed (formerly Wilson HS, in affluent Ward 3) was killed. The killers are known to be other students still walking the halls. Yet, the DC Public School system, which Janeese helps oversee, is more afraid of righteous fathers showing up to protect the school than they are of boys who killed one of their own and are sitting in the classroom.

My Small Business Holiday: Small businesses get a massive boost when the government actually supports its workers. If I am elected Mayor, D.C. government workers will get both Eid Holidays off to celebrate with their families, just like leaders like Zohran Mamdani secured in NYC. And we will give our residents a break from predatory parking tickets on our holy days, putting money directly back into our local restaurants and other small businesses.

They wanted me off the mic because the machine expects you to just roll over and accept your status quo as "slaves." And that's a fact since DC is the only place where we are taxed without any right to argue against our federal taxes being used to kill children in Iran, Palestine, Sudan and elsewhere.

DC voters are smarter than that.

In NYC, they believed that the impossible was possible and elected Zohran Mamdani as Mayor. Its our turn to do the same DC.
