The Picts Were Far More Advanced Than We Thought

Dr. Gordon Noble is Professor of Archaeology at Aberdeen University and lead archaeologist on many fascinating digs in Pictland.

He and his colleagues have been at the forefront of a series of astonishing discoveries over the last couple of decades in regards to Scotland's enigmatic Post-Roman age and its people known as the Picts. Once considered mysterious and the very epitome of the other, today archaeology has revealed a completely different story. Far from a peripheral area this was a society at the very forefront of Britain, with vast hitherto unknown settlements of thousands of people and some of the most incredible artwork in contemporary Europe. I asked Dr. Noble to discuss the recent developments at incredible sites such as Tap o Noth, Mither Tap, Burghead, Dunnicaer, East Lomond and more.
