On July 30, 2023, longtime NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientist Michael David Hicks died at age 59.
He spent over 20 years at JPL working on critical missions involving asteroids, comets, and planetary defense — including the famous DART asteroid deflection project.
Shockingly, no official cause of death was ever released to the public, and no autopsy details surfaced. His death has now become Part 2 in the disturbing wave of missing and dead scientists.
