In order to keep your legal residency in the UAE, you need to visit the country only once every six months. Many people like this idea of not having to spend much time in a country where they keep their legal residency. But what happens to your tax situation in this case?
More importantly, how does your home country perceive your legal and tax residency in a case where you don't actually spend much time in the UAE? Could your home country end up taxing you?

This really comes down to where do you come from. Some countries will be more strict about this than others. For example, Canada and Australia care that you have an actual residency in another country.
