Using Art and Technology for Public Advocacy | Sarah Belal | TEDxLahoreWomen

Does the law exist in a vacuum and is apolitical? No, says Barrister Sarah Belal, founder and executive director of advocacy group, Justice Project Pakistan, which uses art, theatre, and disruptive technology to tell the stories of the most vulnerable prisoners trapped in Pakistan's criminal justice system. Sarah recounts stories of defending clients on death row and those too poor to afford legal help, from appearing on morning shows to producing groundbreaking live theatre — all to prevent "the most premeditated of murders' Sarah Belal is the Founder and Executive Director of Justice Project Pakistan, a non-profit legal action firm representing the most vulnerable Pakistanis facing the harshest punishments at home and abroad. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
