SWISS DAY HIKE | STOOS RIDGE | FRONALPSTOCK TO KLINGENSTOCK | ALPS | FUNICULAR RAILWAY

This trail is located in Stoos, an alpine village in Central Switzerland accessed by the steepest funicular train in the world. Once you reach Stoos via the funicular railway, you can ride a chair lift up to Klingenstock, hike across the ridge to Fronalpstock whilst witnessing the breathtaking views on both sides of turquoise Lake Lucerne and the Alps. There is a playground and restaurant at Fronalpstock where you relax a bit. Then you can ride another chair lift down from Fronalpstock (or hike down if you like). The trail is a bit dangerous, with steep drop offs sometimes on both sides of the narrow alpine trail. But sensible hikers with secure footing should have no problems. We loved this trail and will definitely do it again and again.
