The Los Angeles Angels are trying to win the American League pennant and go back to the World Series since 2002, where they went to the World Series and won in 7 games against the San Francisco Giants. The New York Yankees are trying to go back to the World Series for the first time since 2000. They were dominant in the 1990s, but have not had World Series success as of late, the Yankees are trying to get another shot at the World Series. The Yankees have C.C. Sabathia on the mound, who has had a very good season with a 19-8 record in the regular season. The Angels have John Lackey on the mound, who has had a good season with the Angels with an 11-8 record in the regular season.
