MBA in France; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!!!!

when you decide to do an english masters program, let me say your MBA in English, you have the choice to pursue studies in French alongside your MBA . so you end up completing the school with an MBA in business as well as an additional language.

one of the main reasons to pursue an MBA in France is that ,most of the world's most prestigious business schools are here in France in 2005, according to the QS world University ranking French business schools like INSEAD was among the best five worldwide. In fact,HEC Paris currently places the third best business school worldwide in the latest QS group rankings. This is without saying that France has a good number of the best business schools in Europe..

Beside some of these schools earlier mentioned,is SKEMA business school which is located in a French Rivera is a highly regarded tourist location in the world with a strong international reputation.

Another reason to pursue an MBA in France is that people who took business related courses have some of the best opportunities to find jobs in France. For example if you did a law course, it's a bit complicated same applies to social sciences.
However, if you did a course in a business related field, especially and you can communicate in English and French , you stand a very good chance of getting employment here in France after school. In Paris, for example, there's the La Défense business district , the largest business district in Europe and one of the largest in the world
We have company companies like EDF, Arcelor, Areva, Aventis, Fiat, Elf,Société Générale and Total which are among the largest and the most famous multinational corporations in the world.
The question you are probably asking yourself is the requirement to enter into a business sch and some of the best schools to apply to.just like any other country in the world you need a bachelor's degree or an equivalent of a French bachelor's degree. in France the bachelor's degree is three years, therefore, your three years university education with transcripts will be considered as equal to a French bachelor's degree, otherwise known as the licence.

Other institutions may demand some years of work experience to pursue an MBA. This is not really the case for most of them but there are some of them who demand that you have to have three or four years of work experience in any related field for you to pursue an MBA.
You also need to prove your language ability sometimes , so there are some schools who ask you for TOFEL, some will ask you for IELTS or TOIC.
Also some schools would demand that you take a GMAT or a GRE. I think normally what you need to prove is that you have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and if you have work experience thats an advantage. and if it's a French public university that is teaching the MBA in English then you don't have to prove that you speak French.

However, if you choose a school where the MBA teaching medium will be in French, then you have to show you have a French language ability. Normally they have three types of examinations and you you can take any one of these to prove your French shoul skills. The first one is the DELF(Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française),the second one is the TEF (Test d'évaluation du français)and the third one is the TCF which is Test de Connaissance du français.
And when you take this examinations the minimum requirements, you need to show to prove you have a French language ability is B2 so B2 is being able to communicate with people's spontaneously ,not necessarily so fluently but being able to communicate with people in a manner they can understand what you are saying and in a manner you can also convey your thoughts or make an argument not necessarily fluently but comfortably enough so that in case you have to do presentations in school or you have to Write an exams, you can express yourself as best as possible.

However, there's a peculiarity with the French system if you want to pursue a bachelor's degree before the MBA. They have an exam called the BACC. The difficulty with this system is it's only recognized or it's only done in French speaking countries, okay, so if you're coming from an English speaking country, it's very difficult for them to accept your high school diploma for you to pursue a direct bachelor's program, that is why I always emphasize on masters in France.

Paris School of business starts for around 14000 Euros a year ,Rouen Business school for around 24000 Euros a year and HEC PARIS charging around 45 thousand euros a year. So as you can see it all depends on the depth of your pocket.
