UK Weather Forecast: A "Window" Of Drier Weather Today... (Tuesday 24th September 2024)

Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Tuesday 24th September 2024.

Current Situation: We have a "window" of drier weather as we're between low pressures today with one low clearing out into the north sea and another low developing in the Atlantic...

Today:

Tuesday starts with rain clearing from the east coast of England while another band of rain is sinking southwards across Scotland. Elsewhere we have scattered showers in the west but many central and southern regions are dry.

Through the rest of the day we'll find outbreaks of rain sinking southwards across Scotland and north east England with sunny spells and scattered showers through Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England while much of the south and south east stays dry with sunny spells. Temperatures range from 10C to 17C.

Tonight:

Showers will die out in most places this evening but some showers will keep going around coasts. The bulk of the country will become dry with clear spells and variable cloud. It will be a cold night with temperatures ranging from -2C to 12C. Watch out for a frost for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow:

Most places starting dry, sunny and cold. Northern and eastern regions staying mostly dry and sunny but southern and western regions will turn very wet through the afternoon with heavy spreading northeastwards during the evening.

Outlook:

Thursday: More heavy rain in in places. Cool.

Friday: Cold northerly winds bringing heavy showers with persistent rain stuck in the south.

Saturday: Cold with sunny spells and scattered showers in the north and west. Frost risk early and late.
