4. Gmail खाता कसरी ह्याक हुनबाट बचाउने | Multi factor Authentication using Google Authenticator

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is essential because it immediately neutralizes the risks associated with compromised passwords. If a password is hacked, guessed, or even phished, that’s no longer enough to give an attacker to get access to your account. without 2FA login code as the second factor, a password alone is useless.

So, let's learn how to set up Google Authenticator to generate the security code on Gmail.

Login to your Gmail account and click on the profile picture icon located at the top right corner of the screen. Now click on “Manage your google account” option.

Select “Security” settings to proceed further.

Scroll down and click on the “2-step verification” button.

You will be asked to enter your Gmail password again. Enter your password and click on “next”.

Now in 2-Step verification page, go to authenticator app and click on “set up” button.

You will be prompted to choose the kind of phone. If you have an Android device then select Android otherwise select iPhone.

This will open a new window containing a QR code. To set things up you can scan this QR code via Google Authenticator.

Install Google Authentication app on your mobile from play store. Tap on Google Authenticator app to launch it.

You will now receive two options either to scan a bar code or enter the key manually. Tap on “Scan a bar code” then it will open the camera of your phone. Scan the QR code with your camera.

Once you successfully scan the QR code. You will receive new six digit code in the authenticator app.

Now enter the security code generated via Google Authenticator app into the field Enter code Section. Once the correct code is entered click on “Verify” to proceed.

You will be prompted with a message that 2FA is all set, click on “Done”. You have successfully set up 2FA using google authenticator app.

We logged out from Gmail then again logged in. We are asked to enter the verification code. Again, check your mobile phone where you will see verification code in your google authenticator app. Enter the same verification code in 2FA prompted by Gmail to login and click on “next”.

Finally, you are logged in to your gmail account.
