Bill C-22 – the Lawful Access Act

Bill C-22 aims to give law enforcement new tools to track and catch criminals who carryout their activities online.

Conservatives recognize the need to ensure law enforcement and national security agencies have the ability to investigate serious crimes in the digital age.

However, as the Official Opposition, it is our responsibility to scrutinize, to challenge, and to ensure that any new powers are necessary, proportionate, and consistent with the rights and freedoms of Canadians.

Conservatives will always stand up for the personal freedoms of Canadians.
