How To Stop A TIGER ATTACK (Human-Wildlife Conflict In India)

Reducing human-wildlife conflict in India is an ever more pressing issue. Space is at a premium, and for farm owners it's sometimes necessary to live in close proximity to tigers. But when the crops they grow attract the sort of animals that are prey for tigers, conflict is inevitable.

When we travelled to India we lived on a farm that had faced that exact problem, but had come up with a cunning solution for enhancing coexistence with its tiger neighbours. Now the farm exclusively grows turmeric.

The conflict over natural resources is at the heart of human-wildlife conflict not only in India, but all over the world. The animals and environments may be different, but did this small farm in India discover a tactic that could be applied elsewhere? Only time will tell.
