The International Press Conference Featuring Samuel Bak/ Tolerance Through Art

The aim of this conference is to present the initiative 'Tolerance Through Art' as inspired by the life and art of the painter and Holocaust survivor Samuel Bak (USA), who was born in Vilnius. The newest projects of this initiative - an interactive website 'Why do we need art?' which aims to raise awareness among high school students on the questions of ethics raised by Samuel Bak in the form of art, and the sightseeing tour 'The Road of Samuel Bak', which tells the story of Vilnius during WWII through the eyes of the child. The purpose of the initiative is to see Samuel Bak's art as a tool with which to read the signs of history, promote tolerance and start an open discussion on the painful questions of our past and present.

Paulius Gritėnas, the Tolerance Man of the Year, and the 'Tolerance as an Art Form' Ambassador moderate the discussion with Samuel Bak.

Participants: Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History Kamilė Rupeikaitė, Head of Samuel Bak Museum Ieva Šadzevičienė, Head of EZCO Creative Agency Lina Vigraitė.
