Impact of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guideline raises concerns

Many urologists believe anecdotally that prostate cancer screening rates have declined since the US Preventive Services Task Force recommended against screening in 2012. Three studies presented at the AUA annual meeting appear to confirm that belief. Study authors and AUA spokesperson Sam Chang, MD, took a closer look at this issue and the most current data on trends in prostate cancer screening by primary care physicians.
