Brody Neuenschwander Ruling pen: what does handwriting mean?

In this video Brody Neuenschwander writes with the Handwritmic ruling pen that bears his name and asks himself many questions designed to encourage us to think more deeply about handwriting and calligraphy. In his own words: ❝ People used to write... virtually everybody 50 years ago knew how to use a pen, write a letter, knew how to shape letters that would be read. ❞

Handwritmic designed a new kind of pen, in collaboration with Brody Neuenschwander, the well-known text artist and calligrapher. It can be considered an improvement of an old technical instrument.
The result is a new calligraphy and drawing instrument with four functions: you can write bold, medium and thin strokes and you can trace and rule lines of different thicknesses holding the pen vertically.
