Xe's Final Fantasy News - Final Fantasy Resonance

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE has been announced as the first HD-2D entry in the Final Fantasy series, blending classic Final Fantasy design with modern RPG systems in a new standalone interpretation of the franchise.

The game features turn based combat with updated mechanics, and includes chocobos, espers, and airships. Characters such as Cloud, Tidus, and the Warrior of Light appear, bringing together elements from across the series.

Visually, it uses an HD-2D style that combines detailed pixel art with modern lighting and visual effects. The story is based on the first arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, rebuilt into a full console RPG rather than a mobile adaptation.

It launches on October 22, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector Editions will be available.
