US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Arrives in India for Four-Day Visit

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in India for a four-day visit aimed at resolving diplomatic tensions that have persisted between the two nations over the past year. Rubio will first attend an event in Kolkata before traveling to New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tomorrow, he will hold bilateral talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, with discussions expected to focus on key areas including investments, energy, trade, critical technology, and strengthening bilateral relations. Topics such as West Asia tensions and disruptions in energy supply are also likely to come up during the talks. On March 25, Rubio will visit Agra and Jaipur, and on March 26, he will participate in the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi. Rubio has emphasized that India is a critically important partner for the United States and described his visit as highly significant.
