Encounter fear with the "Ratri Sookta"

Fear is faceless, but it assumes innumerable faces; it may be of burglary, insects, reptiles, wild animals, darkness, closed space, vast expanse of space, loneliness and death, to name a few. Fear torments everyone in one form or the other. Fear is not the cause, but the result of our past karma and is instilled in the mind by God; but, the All-Compassionate has also provided Ratri Sookta for its destruction.

The Ratri Sookta is a Vedic mantra; it found in the 10th mandala of the Rigveda, and Shri Durga Devi is its devata; and as the name goes by, it is generally recited at night, and Shri Durga Devi who is also the abhimani devata for ratri(night), destroys bad dreams and blesses people with sound sleep.

The Ratri sookta is a very powerful mantra; it is also known to destroy fears like that of burglary, wild animals and even death if it is recited with full faith; it destroys fears even if it's recitation is heard; so much so, that it destroys fear if someone else recites it for us. Ratri Sookta destroys all types of fear. Just one example is given below:

A 10-year-old normal boy would get up in the dead of the night, in great fear, and would take quite some time to become normal. He would say that it was a very vague fear and that he could not describe it. His grandfather did parayana of the Ratri Sookta for him, as advised Poojya Shri Vidyasimhacharya, and the boy has had no such experiences during the last five years.
