RV Road Trip to Pella Tulip Time 2026! (Texas to Iowa Route & Campgrounds)

Come along on our 3-day RV road trip from McKinney, Texas up to Pella, Iowa for the 2026 Tulip Time Festival! We hit the road a few days before the big event to beat the crowds, enjoying a scenic journey through Oklahoma and Missouri along the way.In this video, we share our route, review our two overnight campground stops, and take a sneak peek tour of Pella as the town gets completely prepped for the festival.

Our Route & Stops:
Day 1: Leaving McKinney, TX and heading north into Oklahoma.
Stop 1: Overnight at Blue Bill Point COE Campground on Fort Gibson Lake (Wagoner, OK). A peaceful spot perfect for a quick travel trailer stop!
Day 2: Driving through Missouri to Kearney.
Stop 2: Overnight at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park (Kearney, MO). Great shaded sites and rich history.
Day 3: Arriving in Pella, IA just ahead of the festival to catch the calm before the storm and see the final town preparations.
