Principle 10 - Equitable health and wellbeing outcomes for underserved communities

This is the final deep dive into our principles, focusing on principle 10 and the whole mission of the Equity Charter - “Equitable health and wellbeing outcomes for underserved communities”. We are joined by Rachel Power, CEO of The Patients Association, and Professor Partha Kar, Type I Diabetes and Technology Lead at NHS England. In this conversation you’ll hear about the danger of assuming that minoritised communities don’t want to engage, or that older people are not digitally skilled. We also talk about the nuanced approach needed when working with carers, and finally some practical nuggets of wisdom around communication channels for engagement.

You can find out more about The Patients Association The Six Principles of Patient Partnership here.
